Taxonomy
Pleurotoma (Ancistrosyrinx) elegans was named by Dall (1881) [DISTRIBUTION: Recent; Jamaica.]. It is extant.

It was recombined as Ancistrosyrinx elegans by Olsson (1922); it was recombined as Cochlespira (Ancistrosyrinx) elegans by Woodring (1970) and Hendy et al. (2008).
