Murex (Chicoreus) lepidotus dujardinoides was named by Vokes (1963) [DISTRIBUTION: Early Miocene; Dominican Republic, Florida.]. Its type specimen is USNM 644372, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Chicoreus dujardinoides by Vokes (1979); it was recombined as Chicoreus (Chicoreus) dujardinoides by Vokes (1965) and Vokes (1989).
