Taxonomy
Turbinellus validus was named by Sowerby (1850). It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Turbinella validus by Gabb (1873); it was recombined as Xancus validus by Maury (1917) and Woodring (1964); it was corrected as Turbinella valida by Vokes (1964) and Vokes (1998).
