Turbinellus haitensis was named by Sowerby (1850) [DISTRIBUTION: Miocene-Pliocene; Dominican Republic.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Vasum haitense by Maury (1917) and Vokes (1998); it was recombined as Vasum (Vasum) haitense by Vokes (1970) and Perrilliat (1987); it was recombined as Vasum haitensis by Gabb (1873) and Landau and Marques da Silva (2010).
