Nassarina olssoni was named by Maury (1917) [DISTRIBUTION: Miocene-Pliocene; Dominican Republic.]. Its type specimen is Holotype (no number), a shell, and it is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Nassarina (Nassarina) olssoni by Hendy et al. (2008).
