Verticordia (Trigonulina) bowdenensis was named by Dall (1903) [DISTRIBUTION: Late Miocene-Pliocene; Caribbean.]. Its type specimen is USNM 135689, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Trigonulina bowdenensis by Jung (1996).
