Taxonomy
Bellaspira was named by Conrad (1868) [Sepkoski's age data: T Mi-u-l R]. It is extant. Its type is Mangelia virginiana.

It was assigned to Turrinae by Woodring (1928); to Turridae by Gardner (1948) and Todd (2001); to Neogastropoda by Sepkoski (2002); and to Mangeliinae by Landau and Marques da Silva (2010).
