Taxonomy
Drillia fusinus was named by Brown and Pilsbry (1911) [DISTRIBUTION: Miocene-Pliocene; Caribbean.]. Its type specimen is ANSP 1693, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Pleurofusia (Cruziturricula) fusinus by Woodring (1970); it was recombined as Cruziturricula fusinus by Hendy et al. (2008).
