Taxonomy
Scapharca riogurabonica was named by Maury (1917) [TYPE LOCALITY: Los Quemados, Dominican Republic (Miocene-Pliocene). TYPE REPOSITORY: Presumably PRI, New York.].

It was recombined as Anadara (Sectiarca) riogurabonica by Hendy et al. (2008).
