Cerithium nigrocinctum was named by Adams (1839) [DISTRIBUTION: Pleistocene-Recent; Western Atlantic.]. It is extant.

It was recombined as Triphora nigrocincta by Richards (1962); it was recombined as Marshallora nigrocincta by Hendy et al. (2008).
