Taxonomy
Cerithium adamsii was named by Lea (1845) [DISTRIBUTION: Pleistocene-Recent; Western Atlantic]. It is extant.

It was recombined as Seila adamsi by Richards (1962); it was recombined as Cerithiopsis adamsii by Miller (1990); it was recombined as Seila adamsii by Martin (1904), Weisbord (1962), Hoerle (1972), Ward (1998) and Hendy et al. (2008).
