Calorebama was named by Squires (1989) [Sepkoski's age data: K Maes-l T Eo-u]. Its type is Calorebama dilleri dilleri.

It was synonymized subjectively with Sulcobuccinum by Vermeij (1998).

It was assigned to Pseudolivinae by Squires (1989); to Pseudolividae by Squires (2001); and to Neogastropoda by Sepkoski (2002).
