Taxonomy
Parapodemus adroveri was named by Thaler (1966). Its type specimen is IPMC M 4029, a maxilla (with M1-M3), and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Los Mansuetos, which is in the Turolian of horizon the Alfambra Formation Spain.
It was recombined as Occitanomys (Rhodomys) adroveri by Martín Suárez and Freudenthal (1993).
