Taxonomy
Megapeomys bobwilsoni was named by Morea and Korth (2002). Its type specimen is UCR 15412, a skull (nearly complete skull with associated partial mandibles), and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Massacre Lake RV-7043, which is in a Hemingfordian terrestrial horizon in Nevada.
