G. Storch and Z. Qiu 1983 | Small mole. Dental formula I3/3, C1/1, P?3/3, M3/3, I1 distincly enlarged; C1 single-rooted and not enlarged; p2 relatively small. Lower antemolars anterior to p4 single-rooted. Metastylids of lower molars lacking. Mesostyles of M2 and M3 weakly to moderately cleft; mesostyles of M1 anteroposteriorly elongate and undivided or with some faint suggestions of a division. Crista obliqua of m2 and m3 extending to the middle of the protocristid. Protoconules of upper molars weak to missing. P4 with distinct protocone, and its paracone inflated anteriorly. p4 with wide talonid heel, metaconid small to lacking, and protoconid inflated. Relatively strong development of cingula. Antemolar region of the mandible relatively short and tapered, anterior teeth procumbent; anterior border of the coronid process straight and at right angles to the horizontal ramus. Humerus, ulna and radius moderately specialized fossorially; teres tubercle of the humerus short lingitudinally, caput humeri directed mediodistally, and 'scalopine-ridge' prominent. |
