Taxonomy
Patella octoradiata was named by Gmelin (1791) [DISTRIBUTION: Pleistocene-Recent; Caribbean.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Subemarginula octoradiata by Woodring et al. (1924); it was recombined as Hemitoma octoradiata by Weisbord (1962) and Hendy et al. (2008).
