Taxonomy
Arca pectinata was named by Gmelin (1791) [DISTRIBUTION: Pleistocene-Recent; Western Atlantic.]. It is extant.

It was recombined as Glycymeris pectinata by Woodring et al. (1924) and De Buisonjé (1974); it was recombined as Glycymeris (Tucetona) pectinata by Woodring (1973); it was recombined as Tucetona pectinata by Richards et al. (1969), Tschudin (2001) and Hendy et al. (2008).
