Phasianella tessellata was named by Potiez and Michaud (1838) [DISTRIBUTION: Pleistocene-Recent; Caribbean.]. It is extant.

It was recombined as Tricolia tessellata by Weisbord (1964); it was recombined as Eulithidium tessellata by Landau et al. (2016).
