Nassa consensus was named by Ravenel (1861) [DISTRIBUTION: Pleistocene-Recent; Western Atlantic.]. It is extant.

It was recombined as Alectrion consena by Vaughn (1921); it was recombined as Nassarius (Nassarius) consensus by Hendy et al. (2008).
