Tellina versicolor was named by De Kay (1843) [DISTRIBUTION: Plesitocene-Recent; Western Atlantic.]. It is extant.

It was recombined as Angulus versicolor by Hendy et al. (2008).

Synonyms
  • Tellina pauperata was named by d'Orbigny (1853) [DISTRIBUTION: Pleistocene-Recent; Western Atlantic.]. It is extant.

    It was recombined as Tellina (Angulus) pauperata by Vaughn et al. (1921); it was synonymized subjectively with Angulus versicolor by Hendy et al. (2008).
