Lithaster jurassicus
Taxonomy
Pentaceros (Oreaster) jurassicus was named by von Zittel (1876). It is not extant. Its type specimen is Paläontologischen Staatssammlung, München. It is the type species of Lithaster.
It was recombined as Pentaceros jurassicus by von Zittel (1883) and Fraas (1886); it was recombined as Lithaster jurassicus by Hess (1977) and Hess (1991).

A single row of abactinal plates in the arm, vis-à-vis of marginal plates. Abactinal plates large, thick, tabulate, strongly imbricated at the base. Ventro-lateral area restricted to the disk. |
