Arca protracta

Taxonomy
Byssoarca protracta was named by Conrad (1848) [DISTRIBUTION: Early Oligocene; Gulf Coastal Plain.]. Its type specimen is ANSP 30649, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Vicksburg, which is in a Rupelian marine marl in the Byram Marl Formation of Mississippi.

It was recombined as Navicula protracta by Conrad (1854); it was recombined as Arca protracta by Conrad (1865).
