Glycymeris arctata

Taxonomy
Pectunculus arctatus was named by Conrad (1848) [DISTRIBUTION: Early Oligocene; Gulf Coastal Plain.]. Its type specimen is ANSP 30647, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Vicksburg, which is in a Rupelian marine marl in the Byram Marl Formation of Mississippi.

It was recombined as Axinaea arctatus by Conrad (1854); it was recombined as Axinaea arctata by Conrad (1866); it was recombined as Glycymeris arctata by Dall (1898) and Dockery (1982).
