Taxonomy
Pentaceros bispinosus was named by Spencer (1905). It is not extant. Its type specimen is Holotype BNHM OR 35482.

It was recombined as Stauranderaster bispinosus by Spencer (1907), Lewis (1993) and Villier et al. (2004).
