Pteria argentea

Taxonomy
Avicula argentea was named by Conrad (1848) [DISTRIBUTION: Early Oligocene; Gulf Coastal Plain.]. Its type specimen is ANSP 30644, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Pteria argentea by Dall (1898), Mansfield (1940) and Dockery (1982).
