Taxonomy
Pecten (Pseudamusium) subminutus was named by Aldrich (1903) [DISTRIBUTION: Early Oligocene; Gulf Coastal Plain.]. Its type specimen is USNM 644632, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Amusium (Pseudamussium) subminutus by Tucker-Rowland (1938); it was recombined as Eburneopecten subminutus by Palmer and Brann (1965); it was recombined as Eburneopecten (Eburneopecten) subminutus by Dockery (1982).
