Taxonomy
Pecten (Lyropecten) duncanensis was named by Mansfield (1934) [DISTRIBUTION: Early Oligocene; Gulf Coastal Plain.]. Its type specimen is USNM (no number), a shell, and it is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Chlamys (Lyropecten) duncanensis by Tucker-Rowland (1936) and Dockery (1982).
