Taxonomy
Lima staminea was named by Conrad (1848) [DISTRIBUTION: Early Oligocene; Gulf Coastal Plain.]. Its type specimen is ANSP 30656, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Vicksburg, which is in a Rupelian marine marl in the Byram Marl Formation of Mississippi.
It was recombined as Radula staminea by Conrad (1865); it was recombined as Limaria (Limaria) staminea by Dockery (1982).
