Lithaster pustuliferus

Taxonomy
Pentaceros pustuliferus was named by Fraas (1886). It is not extant. Its type specimen is Lectotype AS I 825, Bayerische Saatssammlung für Paläontologie und historische Geologie.

It was recombined as Lithaster pustuliferus by Hess (1977); it was recombined as Pentaceros (Oreaster) pustuliferus by Hess (1975) and Hess (1991).

H. Hess 1977Disc large. Arms relatively massive long, cylindrical. Marginal plates low squared, with an abradial projection. External face with distinctive, adjoining crests and crater-shaped tubercles. Marginal and carinal of similar size but other plates from the dorsal face substantially smaller. Adambulacral plates block like bearing spine bases.
