Pyramis fusca was named by Adams (1839) [DISTRIBUTION: Pleistocene-Recent; Western Atlantic.]. It is extant.

It was recombined as Odostomia fusca by DuBar (1971); it was recombined as Sayella fusca by Hendy et al. (2008).
