Hudsonaster carectum was named by Herringshaw et al. (2007). It is not extant. Its type specimen is Holotype BU 4350.

L. G. Herringshaw et al. 2007Hudsonasterid with large, hexagonal axillary ossicles. Adambulacrals small, square, of consistent size along ray. Inferomarginals square, large along greater length of ray, distally same size as adambulacrals.
