Pecten (Chlamys) gibbus anteamplicostatus was named by Mansfield (1936) [DISTRIBUTION: Pliocene-Pleistocene; Florida.]. It is extant.

It was recombined as Chlamys (Plagioctenium) anteamplicostatus by Olsson and Harbison (1953); it was recombined as Chlamys anteamplicostatus by DuBar (1958) and De Buisonjé (1974); it was recombined as Argopecten anteamplicostata by Hendy et al. (2008).
