Pectunculus declivis was named by Conrad (1833) [DISTRIBUTION: Eocene; Gulf Coastal Plain.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Limopsis declivis by Conrad (1860); it was recombined as Trigonarca declivis by Dall (1898); it was recombined as Trinacria declivis by Harris (1919); it was recombined as Halonanus declivis by Gardner (1945).
