Taxonomy
Clavagella coronata was named by Deshayes (1824) [DISTRIBUTION: Eocene; Paris Basin, France.]. It is not a trace fossil. It is the type species of Stirpulina.

It was recombined as Stirpulina coronata by Stoliczka (1870).
