Taxonomy
Crassatella pteropsis was named by Conrad (1860) [DISTRIBUTION: Campanian; Gulf Coastal Plain. COMMENTS: m. kosnik taxon no: 6985]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Crassatella (Pachythaerus) pteropsis by Conrad (1876); it was recombined as Crassatellites pteropsis by Richards (1950); it was recombined as Bathytormus pteropsis by Wingard (1993).
