Warakia pilleri was named by Harzhauser (2007) [DISTRIBUTION: Late Oligocene-Early Miocene; Oman.]. Its type specimen is NHMW 2006z0231/0016, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil. It is the type species of Warakia.
