It was recombined as Spiriferina kentuckiensis by Raymond (1911); it was recombined as Spiriferina kentuckyensis by Girty (1915) and Morningstar (1922); it was recombined as Punctospirifer kentuckyensis by Dunbar and Condra (1932), Elias (1957) and Hoare (1961); it was recombined as Punctospirifer kentuckensis by Mudge et al. (1962).
