Taxonomy
Cyrtinopsis cooperi was named by Gill (1952) [Spirifera sulcata Hisinger McCoy 1877 p. 23 pl. 46 f. 9-10 Spirifer perlamellosus Hall var. nov. Chapman 1907 p. 239 Spirifer sulcatus Hisinger Chapman 1908 p. 223 Cyrtinopsis perlamellosus (Hall) Gill 1942 p. 42-43 pl. f. 6-7]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Kozlowskiella (Megakozlowskiella) cooperi by Boucot (1957); it was recombined as Megakozlowskiella cooperi by Talent (1963).
