Allorisma leavenworthensis was named by Meek and Hayden (1858) [Allorisma? leavenworthensis]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Chaenomya leavenworthensis by Meek and Hayden (1864), Beede (1900) and Hoare (1961).
