Ulmensia ehrensteinensis

Taxonomy
Ulmensia ehrensteinensis was named by Ziegler (1989). Its type specimen is BSP 1971 XXV 254, a mandible (sin. with p4-m3), and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Ehrenstein 4, which is in a MP 30 fissure fill horizon in Germany. It is the type species of Ulmensia.

R. Ziegler 1989Mittelgroßer Crocidosoricine. For. mentale unter der Hinterwurzel des p4, For. mandibulae unter der Mitte der Fossa pterygoidea. i. inf. mit zwei engständigen Zacken. 4 a inf., die oralen drei einwurzelig, der letzte (p4) zweiwurzelig. m inf. nehmen von oral nach aboral in Größe ab. m1 and m2 mit frei endigendem Hypolophid. Talonid des m3 mit Hypoconid, undeutlichem Entoconid und zwei Graten. Labialcingulum der m inf. kontinuierlich, mäßig stark. Orale Offnung darüber, zwischen M1/M2, For. lacrimale. M sup. mit frei eindigendem Metaloph, Mesostyl konfluent. Kein "Hypoconus".
