It was reranked as Lekanophyllum by Zhen (1995) and Sepkoski (2002).

It was assigned to Mesophyllum by Wedekind (1923) and Hill (1956); to Digonophyllidae by Zhen (1995); and to Rugosa by Sepkoski (2002).
