Taxonomy
Scaphiopus (Scaphiopus) wardorum was named by Estes and Tihen (1964). Its type specimen is U.N.S.M. No.61014, a set of postcrania (posterior 15 mm of a left ilium), and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Norden Bridge Quarry, which is in a Barstovian channel sandstone in the Valentine Formation of Nebraska.
It was recombined as Scaphiopus wardorum by Parmley (1992).
