Taxonomy
Euthriofusus was named by Cossmann (1901) [Sepkoski's age data: K Camp-u T Plio Sepkoski's reference number: 909]. It is not extant. Its type is Fasciolaria burdigalensis.

It was reranked as Fasciolaria (Euthriofusus) by Scahffer (1912).

It was assigned to Fasciolaria by Scahffer (1912); to Fusininae by Sohl (1964); to Neogastropoda by Sepkoski (2002); and to Fasciolariinae by Harzhauser and Mandic (2001) and Harzhauser (2002).
