Taxonomy
Vasum omanicum was named by Harzhauser (2007) [DISTRIBUTION: Late Oligocene; Oman.]. Its type specimen is NHMW 2006z0231/0060, a partial shell, and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Gebel Madrakah - Warak Fm, which is in a Chattian shallow subtidal limestone in the Warak Formation of Oman.
