Fredenia was named by Cadee and Janssen (1994) [Sepkoski's age data: T Ol-u Sepkoski's reference number: 1119]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Fasciolariidae by Wienrich (2001); to Neogastropoda by Sepkoski (2002); and to Fusininae by Snyder (2003).
