Taxonomy
Igdabatis indicus was named by Prasad and Cappetta (1993). Its type specimen is VPL/JU 107 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Marepalli, which is in a Maastrichtian terrestrial conglomerate/marl in the Infratrappean Beds Formation of India.
