Taxonomy
Lartetium petersbuchense was named by Ziegler (1989). Its type specimen is BSP 1976 XXII 3123, a mandible (dext. with a3-m3), and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Petersbuch 2, which is in a MN 4 fissure fill claystone in Germany.
