Taxonomy
Venus granosa was named by Sowerby (1840) [DISTRIBUTION: Early Miocene; India, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Indonesia, Iran, Pakistan, Armenia.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Venus (Omphaloclathrum) puerpera granosa by Vredenburg (1928); it was recombined as Antigona granosa by Cox (1936), Mukerjee (1939).
