Taxonomy
Natica coxi was named by Mukerjee (1939) [DISTRIBUTION: Early Miocene; India.]. Its type specimen is GSI 16383, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Bagmara - Baghmara Fm, which is in a Miocene transition zone/lower shoreface marl/sandstone in the Baghmara Formation of India.
