Dosinia cyclica was named by Guppy (1866) [DISTRIBUTION: Miocene; circum-Caribbean.]. It is not a trace fossil.
It was recombined as Cyclina cyclica by Gabb (1873); it was recombined as Cyclinella cyclica by Dall (1903), Anderson (1929), Woodring (1982) and Perrilliat (1992).
